I’ve been making things all my life. After an intensive Foundation course at Eastbourne Art College, I progressed onto a BA (Hons) Product Design degree at Central Saint Martins. Although I enjoyed it and was successful, I was working with wood, metal, plastic and foam to build models based on my engineering drawings. I missed the ‘looseness’ of working with clay which I learnt at Eastbourne.

I endeavoured to return to a more organic way of creating one day.

After working in London’s design-related industries for several years and travelling, we started a family in 2000. I’m now at the time of my life to throw myself into personal creative projects again as I now have the time, the energy and the money to do so. I joined Exmouth Ceramic Group in 2014 to refresh my skills and start making again.

My studio, tucked away in a forgotten corner of the garden was finished by the end of 2020. I continued to take part in online ceramic workshops throughout lockdowns, having everything I need at home.

Inspire me

I enjoy meeting other craftspeople and learning new skills. I’m inspired by the Devon landscape and interested in other crafts.

My skills in Ceramics include: hand-building: slab, coiling, and sculpting. Slipwork painting, glazes and oxide stains. Raku hand-building and firing. Decorative and landscape-scene tiles and bowls.

I have experience in wood and metal work, needle felting, stone carving, willow weaving and glass painting.
